Clearing Bedroom Clutter

Clearing Bedroom Clutter - A Way to a New You

Just imagine how many much you can collect with all the stuff coming from your work, from your kids' stuff and even from all the holidays and birthday presents you and your family received each year. Wouldn't it be just great to build a museum out of those things in your home? Clutter can take over your time and life if you will not handle it now. It can even make you stressed out! Just imagine again those piles of books on your living area or those stacks of cut out coupons reaching your ceiling from one of the corner of your kitchen. I bet it will add up more wrinkles on your forehead. So why wait for another day to clean and declutter the rooms in your home when you can start now. With a sprinkle of time management and a dash of listed priorities, you will have tidy rooms in no time.

First thing you should do is to make up your mind which room you want to start clearing the clutters. It is always advisable to pick the room that irks you the most so you will have more fun thinking about the other rooms you always like to clean. Start choosing one corner, one drawer and even one cabinet and start separating the things that you can still use from the things that belong to the trash can or from the things you can donate.

Next is organizing all the things you still want to keep. Take all the items out of your drawers, cupboards and cabinets and further organize this stuff into piles. Put all the office supplies, mails and shoes all together and put each group on separate containers or if you have those sealed bins, these will come in handy. If you have time, manage a garage sale during weekends but if you are a busy person then it will be much better to pack it all and send it to your local Goodwill or Salvation Army. These organizations appreciate all kinds of donations from fork and spoon to old sweaters and sneakers.

Then decide if you will still keep things with sentimental values. Just like me, my grandpa gave me an angel wind chime when I was eighteen years old and I saw this beautiful present right after I gave birth to my eldest. My husband decided to put it up on our bedroom doorway. My daughter loved it so much that until now it was still in my cabinet. It becomes more valuable for me since my grandpa passed away three years ago. There are really things you hold unto because of the memories. If you are like me who loves to keep memorable things, then you must have nice sealed bins that you can keep inside your cabinet and there you will keep all those stuff.
Last thing is to throw things that have no use at all. Keeping things inside your cabinet or in your room will only make your space unavailable. If your stuff is broken, tarnished or have no value whatsoever, do not hesitate, get a trash bag and throw it all away.
