Lois Joy Johnson and Sandy Linter have spent decades working with women who changed the face of beauty, among them Christie Brinkley, Lauren Hutton, Iman, Cheryl Tiegs, Elizabeth Hurley, and Sharon Stone. Lois is a beauty editor and one of the founders ofMoremagazine. Sandy is Lancôme's "Beauty at Every Age" expert. Both Sandy and Lois live in New York City.

Some good tips
It turns out that I am not a fan of makeup artist Sandy Linter. I couldn't take her very seriously as a role model for beautiful, mature women knowing just how many facelifts and eyelifts and procedures she admitted to having. Her co-author is much more appealing. There are quite a few great tips for older women and books like this correct a glaring omission in the world of beauty for over 40's who still want to be current and beautiful. It's just that in every photo of Ms. Linter, and there are many, she has an expression of over-confidence that borders on being smug. I don't think the book was intended to be a brag book for Sandy but that's how it felt to me. The product recommendations are great and the models chosen are truly gorgeous and inspirational.

Finally a beauty book for REAL women!
The Makeup Wakeup is possibly the best beauty book I've ever read. No other beauty book has lessons, and information like this one! The eye makeup chapter really explains how to do your eyes with professional results. The cosmetic surgery chapter is the first of its kind I've seen to offer inside secrets and options for REAL women. Simply amazing!!!

Needless to say, it was worth the wait. I love makeup and Sandy Linter is a MUA legend!
