Here are Libby's useful tips to get through the festive season without feeling yuck!

1.   Make a conscious effort to have water with you at all times. Hydration is of particular importance if you know you will be drinking alcohol in the evening. If you don't feel thirsty squeeze fresh lemon or place a pinch of Celtic sea salt in your water.

2.   Structured exercise provides the backbone to maintaining health over the festive season. As the days become warmer consider shifting your movement outside whether you practice tai chi in a park you love or you just walk in the sunshine, make use of the beautiful summer air and your surroundings.

3.   Surviving Christmas functions. When dining out simple substitutions can make a world of difference. Swap fried for grilled and roasted for fresh. Always order extra greens or vegetables on the side of your meal to fill up on a nourishing choice.

4.   Keep up your greens and incorporate seasonal produce. Enjoy asparagus, cos lettuce and beans... a high plant food diet has been scientifically shown to play a major role in the prevention of degenerative diseases! As Dr Libby loves to say - Amp Up Your Greens! Amping up your greens and putting lemon juice in your water will do wonders for your health over the Christmas season.

5.   Here is a new green smoothie recipe to help you do just that... lovingly called Summer Surprise & Delight... Blend well: 6 organic peaches (seed removed), 2 big handfuls of spinach leaves and 2 cups of filtered water. Enjoy!

6.   Remember Christmas is about being in the company of the people you love. Enjoy some soul nourishing relaxation and allow yourself to stop! You deserve it. And this is as important for our health as what we eat and the way we move. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.
