CHCH heart T-Shirt AppealCHCH Heart Appeal – help support the people of Christchurch With a feeling of helplessness for the people of Christchurch and unable to sleep, Deborah Kelland sat up on the night of the earthquake and designed a beautiful t-shirt which she called chchheart. Out of this design came the idea to launch the Chch Heart Appeal and sell the t-shirts through a specially set up Charitable Trust. The team at Kellands collaborated with a group of passionate kiwis to set up a website www.chchheart.co.nz through which we are selling the t-shirts.We see the appeal as a way for all of us to show our support and love for the people of Christchurch and to raise some much-needed funds. 100% of the profits will be donated to the people of Christchurch through registered charities. There has been a huge amount of support already, but we would appreciate it if you would join us in purchasing a t-shirt. They are available in a range of men’s, women’s and children’s sizes. The Kellands team has been walking the streets of Central Auckland, selling the t-shirts and cajoling willing retailers into stocking them through their businesses. The uptake from these wonderful people has been overwhelming and we are getting daily phone calls from them asking for more t-shirts. We have seen people wearing the t-shirts on the streets already and it’s extremely heart warming to see them being worn all over Auckland. We have distributed over 4,000 t-shirts to date and humdreds have been bought through the website. We are now looking for a national partner to do a Black t-shirt day on the 25th March. Please contact Deborah on 021 920 439 if you can help. We would like to especially thank the people who helped us make this happen - Paul Dykzeul from ACP Media, Woman’s Day Magazine, ASB Bank, Simon Morgan from Key Imports, Mike Modgill from Embroidery Works and also to NZ Couriers. www.chchheart.co.nz |
