Wardrobe Makeover Winner
Day 1
Wow so very excited just found out I have won a wardrobe makeover thanks to wisanow.co.nz & Lynda Reynolds, personalisedbranding.co.nz
Have been thinking about getting a wardrobe consultant in for months but you know life takes over until every morning when I stand in front of my many many clothes and groan that I have absolutely nothing to wear! So bring it Lynda, I'm ready!
Day 2
Go out for drinks with friends and tell them my news. Some share my excitement whereas others talk about how brave I am and how they couldn't get rid of the dress they wore to their first ball when they were 16...we are 38 now!
Day 3
Moving house so decide now is a good time to cull back those clothes. I won't bother going into detail but basically days 4-8 were filled with culling...I was so proud I filled a decent sized charity bag...although it did sit in my bedroom for a few days where I would casually pick it over again...& again. Wow so hard to let some clothes go...I now understand ball dress friend!
The Day!
Lynda arrives at my house and instantly makes me comfortable. We sit down over a cup of tea (I decided 9am was too early for wine, have to make a good impression) and talk about me and my lifestyle before heading into the bedroom for the dreaded moment although I have to say I'm feeling quite relaxed and keeping an open mind.
The trying clothes on process can be quite daunting I mean here I am revealing my mostly naked body to a total stranger...haven't done that since...actually never you mind! But I soon get over it and I like the way Lynda explains why things aren't working or what would make them work better. It's not just a case of 'that's crap' or 'what were you thinking when you bought that!'
Two hours later we have a huge pile of clothes to be distributed to friends, family and charity. I feel liberated until Lynda leaves and I sit there looking at the pile...all that comes to mind is 'wow' did I really make so many bad clothing choices...ummmm yep!
Lynda follows up the next day with a list of what styles suit me along with colours and of course what we need to buy to fill up my now very empty looking wardrobe. Overall still feeling very positive about the experience but looking forward to the shopping day as realise I'm having to alternate between a few outfits!
Shopping!
With a set budget we are off. I thought two hours would be a bit of a drag but it goes in a flash. I almost get a 'p' for picky on my file but at the end of the day you still need to feel comfortable. Overall we did pretty well and Lynda has a great eye so I learnt to trust her. Lynda works with you, your lifestyle & budget and is totally down to earth. I now have some guidelines when buying clothes and think carefully about my purchases so I can start creating outfits and not a hotchpotch of pieces. Totally recommend this experience but you will need to go into it with an open mind...and have fun!

Book Seminar Winner
Dear Raewyn and Geraldine,
How can I thank you for giving me the opportunity to wake up out of a year of mismanaged existence?
The day at the seminar was the very thing I needed to start my life again, albeit a rather different one.
I thought that Maria had worked extremely hard to organise such an interesting programme for a diverse group of writers.
She appealed to me greatly with her modest manner, and managed to create an atmosphere where everyone felt equal no matter what stage they were up to in their writing dreams.
I have heard Lesley Dawson and Ann Andrews speaking at previous functions so it was enlightening to hear them again after about eight years.
As a direct result of the day I have 'handed in my notice' to my partner with whom I produce the Waikino Whisper, our monthly village production. The editorial content has changed since the January issue due to the upset? caused to our village by the Hauraki District Council proposed draft plan for future development.
The Whisper has now become a voice for those against further subdivision. I am opposed to the publication being involved in politics, so this morning I 'did it' - told Helen, the equal partner, that I could no longer be involved as it was against everything we had outlined the Whisper to be, when we set it up two years ago.
So there yo go - brave huh?
If I had not gone on Saturday this probably would not have happened because I can be a bit of a pushover - maybe I am about to get more decisive!
I now think that 'Letters from Louis' may have a chance to become a reality as I slowly get rid of 'stuff' out of my life.

Doubtless Bay Villas Competition
Dear Raewyn
What a wonderful surprise and one sorely needed on this bleak Hamilton day! You can be assured, even with a 5 hour plus drive to get to Doubtless Bay, this prize will be very much appreciated. Cant wait to have a weekend away and will also try to squeeze in a trip to Cape Reinga one more thing to cross off my bucket list!
Thank you so much. I will look forward to hearing from House of Travel and from Margo.
PS: I am also an avid photographer so if you like, I will send you some photos for the website !

Spa Competition
Oooo goodness me. Thank you Geraldine, most unexpected and rather nice. I'll have to do a bit of research before I select a spa I think, this is not an area I have much experience in, in fact it will be a completely new one!
Best regards and thanks for the continuing quality and colour the website provides.

IPL Hand Treatment Winner
Hi Ladies
Thank you so much for the opportunity to win the IPL treatment on my hands. They looked quite awful and right now look even worse!!!! But I know that over the next month things will improve dramatically. Renata is lovely and the service was very pleasant (though the treatment was more painful than I had expected and I was pleased I wasnt having a larger area done!)
Thank you again its fantastic winning something

Mink Photography Makeover Draw Winner
Dear Geraldine and Raewyn
What a surpise when I just checked my emails. What a treat that will be- I'm stunned!
As a single mum of 5 children for several years there wasn't any spare money to spend on me, but it was all worth it to see them grow up into wonderful ,caring young adults. So now it's time for me. It feels like a reward for all those hard years, I can't tell you how thrilled I am at the prospect. This was always on my 'bucket list' of things to do one day....because I usually avoid being photographed, and I wanted the children to have one good photo of me!
I can't wait to hear from Mink Photography...I'm going to have a nice cup of tea to celebrate.... and a piece of chocolate.
Thank you so, so much.
