Focus Your Aim for 2011
21 Days transforming the Mundane into Marvellous!
1. Start with the right Attitude - a ‘Willingness to Give is a Go’!
Get a notebook or journal, set aside 20 – 30 minutes to work through these steps, because you and your life are worth it. Choose to ‘Focus your Aim’ making 2011 your year to turn the Mundane into the Marvellous!
2. Renew Self Belief in your ability to achieve, become ‘Inspired’!
List at least 20 things you overcame or accomplished in 2010 (personally & professionally). This acknowledges your achievements, anchoring all the ‘Success Energy’, from the previous year boosting your self confidence, inspiring you to expand and succeed in this new year.
3. Focus your Aim for 2011: Think about how you want to feel in the coming year – Courageous, Relaxed, Happy, Inspired, Focused, Present, Powerful, Peaceful, Abundant, Successful etc.
Every goal we have ever set has the underlying objective of achieving a certain feeling eg. wanting money to feel secure or free. By aiming directly for the feeling rather than just the surface goal you are more likely to achieve your aim and stay motivated along the way. Choose 1 or 2 qualities that describe your Emotional Aim then write them down as your Focus. My Focus is to feel ……….. in 2011.
4. Rate your focus level in each of these areas: Career, Money, Health, Fitness & Wellbeing, Family & Relationships, Fun & Recreation, Personal/Spiritual Growth ie. Powerful, Abundant etc 1-10 (1 = lowest, 10 = highest)
5. Choose one area as your Aim for the next 21 days: Set an Outer, practical goal and an Inner, emotional/spiritual Aim (goal) eg. ‘Money’: a practical outer goal to save $100.00 towards a holiday, an inner emotional goal refusing to buy anything just to ‘fill up’ over the next 21 days. Once you have accomplished your aim in one area you can systematically work on the other areas. Start this within 24 hours and tell someone (a buddy, coach, family member) your aim to keep you accountable.
6. Do at least 1 Action per day: Keep a journal, write down 1 x large or small Action you will take towards your Aim at the start of each day, set a time to do it and list any support you need to achieve this, then - DO IT!
7. Acknowledge You: At the end of the day write a list acknowledging every step you took towards achieving your Aim and Focus (I feel abundant because I saved $10.00 today by not filling up on something I didn’t need etc.). This will help you recognise what you are achieving as you go and keep up the momentum.
8. Reward Yourself: At the end of each week, re-read your acknowledgement list and gift yourself a reward ie. time out doing something special for yourself, movies, a bubble bath with candles, dinner out, a massage etc. If your goal is very large, choose a big reward to give yourself at the end of the 21 days, this will keep you inspired and motivated to achieve your aim whilst acknowledging what you are accomplishing along the way.
