Sandra & Michelle - Mon Bichon
Mon Bichon opened its doors for the first time on Bastille Day - July 2008 when owners Michelle Harding & Sandra Farrell decided their charming suburb of Farm Cove in Auckland’s Eastern suburbs needed a ‘heart’. With the assistance of husbands and friends, the mother and daughter team quickly established themselves with a great reputation and a warm inviting place for neighbours to reconnect with one another. Sharing food and enjoying company has always been a large part of the pair’s lives and they inherit their love of cooking from past generations.Their mission to you, is to produce food that uses only the freshest and whole ingredients. Farm fresh eggs using wholesome yolks; New Zealand butter & flours & local produce where ever possible, giving an end result of taste, freshness & uniqueness. The delicious aromas which waft from the kitchen fulfill the promise of all goodies being home made. The cabinet changes daily with a delightful array of savouries, slices and cakes to remind you of childhood as well as healthy salads and sandwiches. In addition, a small range of deli products are available including NZ made cheeses, imported salamis and cured meats, gourmet yoghurt not to mention an exciting selection of sauces, dressings and chutneys on the shelves. To make life easier for those with busy lives, Mon Bichon also has an in house brand of Frozen Take Home Bistro style meals known as ‘Voila.’ Glass fronted freezers display a large selection of your favourite meals in a range of sizes. Gluten Free, Vegetarian and Lean cuisine is also offered as well as Sweets and Cocktails. As if this wasn’t enough, Mon Bichon has a highly successful Catering service which preceded the café by 12 years. This is where Mon Bichon is now …. A real sweetie.
