About Us

WISANOW is the creation of Geraldine Meo and Raewyn Hamilton.  These two women reached a time in their lives when they felt very alone but in fact discovered the opposite was true.

Geraldine and Raewyn first met in 1966 at the age of 17. The boyfriends at the time both invited them to a work party.

Raewyn thought Geraldine resembled Gina Lollobrigida, an Italian screen siren of the day, and thought she'd better keep an eye on her.

"I had two choices.  I could steer clear or get to know her and keep the enemy close and monitor the competition," Raewyn said.

Eventually, those boyfriends joined the first husbands club and some 43 years later Geraldine and Raewyn remain close friends.  They have since shared decades of joy, heartbreak and success.  Now they are sharing what it means to face their second adulthood.

Geraldine has had two marriages and is in a long term relationship, has three children and 1 grandchild.  Raewyn is on her second marriage and has two children and 7 grandchildren.

Geraldine says transitioning to your second adulthood is just another one of life's processes.

"There is no manual for this.  Each woman will approach it in her own way.  But, whatever form it takes - it's normal," Geraldine said.

geraldeBoth women know how much more complicated life is than it used to be. Baby boomer women are having to deal with children, grandchildren, redundancy, financial stress, singlehood, a soul-less marriage, a renewed vibrancy in their relationship/marriage, depression, aged and/or dementia in parents, becoming an empty nester, living alone, facing up to retirement, disinterest in a career, dealing with loss of a parent, parents, partner, child or grandchild, coping with their child's/children's divorce, dealing with children/grandchildren long distance if they live in another city or overseas.

Raewyn and Geraldine have discovered a sisterhood of women sharing many of these same experiences.  They found that through communicating with like-minded people they can reduce stress, learn from others and put things into perspective.  A warm, honest and empathetic forum is what WISANOW is all about.

"Our aim is to promote sufficient trust within the online community, through interactive involvement from subscribers, to allow the sharing of experiences and encourage each others growth and have fun, simply living," Raewyn says.

WISANOW is the place to be informed, entertained, inspired and most importantly, recognised as the amazingly normal woman that you are.
